DUBLIN, Ohio Phil Mickelson said he has not yet met with PGA Tour officials regarding a possible suspension or penalty because of his involvement in an SEC insider trading investigation and the uncovering of a large gambling debt.
Mickelson might have violated a section of the Tour players handbook which states a player shall not “associate with or have dealings with persons whose activities, including gambling, might reflect adversely upon the integrity of the game of golf.”
Mickelson declined to comment on a potential penalty from the PGA Tour, which also has not commented on a penalty.
“I don’t know anything to even comment on that,” Mickelson said.
