The countrys top health official has rejected suggestions that the HSE turned a blind eye to problems at Console because it believed it was getting value for money for services provided by the suicide charity.
Tony OBrien, director-general of the HSE, also denied that the HSE had failed to oversee the charity, which was formally wound up by the High Court this week after being declared insolvent following the financial scandal.
