The former treasurer of a Shropshire netball association has admitted stealing £50,000 from the organisation after succumbing to personal debt and gambling.
Chartered accountant Hannah ONeill, of Station Road, Donnington, Telford, was responsible for collecting club fees and paying the bills for Shrewsbury and District Netball Association.
The 38-year-old admitted five offences of dishonesty between 2011 and 2015 at Telford Magistrates Court yesterday.
Miss Abigail Hall, prosecuting, said matters came to light after the new treasurer Karen Holliday found there was a £2,500 deficit in the accounts.
