Max Clifford, the disgraced former PR mogul, has declared bankruptcy owing £7.5 million, including to women who claim that he sexually abused them, The Times can reveal.
Clifford, 74, is serving an eight-year jail sentence for indecent assaults on four women and teenage girls between 1966 and 1984.
His financial downfall may scupper the claims of the women who have sued him for compensation.
For decades the former publicist commanded huge sums by selling clients stories to the tabloids.
At one point making £2.5 million a year, Clifford bought two large homes in Surrey, one valued at £3.5 million in 2008, and a £1.5 million house in an exclusive golf development in Spain. He boasted that he bought a new Bentley worth £200,000 every two
