Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced Porter Davis customers whose homes are not built and uncovered by insurance after the builders collapse last month will get their deposits back under a state government support package.
Porter Davis, Australias 13th largest home builder, went into liquidation in late March and left 1700 homes in Victoria and Queensland unfinished.
The Victorian Building Authority is investigating whether the builder broke the law by taking deposits from customers without having a domestic building insurance policy in place for them first.
