Carolyn Middleton and her neighbour Alison Toia have been left with a house on the edge of a crumbling retaining wall causing major stress
An Auckland retiree is at her wits end after a five-year back and forth with the council which has seen her property slowly crumble away, while no one takes responsibility.
Carolyn Middleton said the trouble started in 2017 when the neighbouring property was redeveloped into units and a large section of earth was removed to lower the ground level.
Since then, she and her neighbour, Alison Toias, properties have been slumping. Middletons been regularly getting out a measuring tape to plot the distance her garden pavers have been shifting, and its getting worse.
