Australian Football great Barry Cable has been found guilty of sexually abusing a Perth girl at the height of his playing career.
The 79-year-old was sued in the District Court of Western Australia by a woman – now in her 60s – who alleged Cable abused her across a five-year period beginning in 1968, when she was 12 years of age.
Judge Mark Herron ruled on Friday in favour of the woman, awarding her $818,700 in damages.
