In 2012, the Kew Heights Sports Club was in deep trouble with “considerable” debts and ageing facilities.
To the rescue rode the well-heeled Melbourne Cricket Club foundation, which cleared the debts, and spent more than $4 million upgrading the club’s facilities, which include three bowling greens, six tennis courts and a 160-person clubhouse.
