A controversial former politician who had thousands of dollars worth of cash hidden in a cupboard after he was declared bankrupt has denied forging documents in court.
Former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer wore a navy suit and patterned blue tie as he appeared in the NSW District Court on Tuesday facing a fraud trial.
He is accused of making a false document and using three false documents to obtain a financial advantage.
