THE collapse of Watersun Homes has Echuca-Moama builders urging customers to do their research before they sign on the dotted line and hand over money.
Watersun Homes, which had a display site in Moama, went belly up in late February and entered voluntary administration two weeks ago.
The sudden collapse has left homebuyers in the lurch and early reports suggest the companys debts are likely to run up to $20 million.
Echuca Building Centre owner Leo Welch has been in the business for several decades and said the local area was experiencing a worrying trend.
This is close to the sixth building firm that has tripped over (in Echuca-Moama) in the past 20 years, he said.
