Thousands of drivers have been left without insurance cover, after insurance firm Alpha announced it had gone bust.
Drivers who were insured with their UK brands, Cover My Cab and Protector, received a text stating: Your taxi insurance policy with Alpha Insurance is cancelled with immediate effect.
The text meant thousands of taxi drivers were left without insurance as of May 9.
The company insured 700 taxi drivers and 10,000 private hire vehicles in London alone, according to the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association (LTDA).
