Hundreds of jobs have been lost across Australia after Adelaide-based construction firm York Civil closed, just a week after being placed into voluntary administration.
The company’s administrator, Ferrier Hodgson, told employees and contractors of the decision this morning.
It said the company had ceased operations immediately because they haven’t been able to find a buyer to take over the business and its employees.
It also said there is now insufficient cash to continue the company’s operations.
Staff at the company’s Regency Park headquarters, said they were blindsided by the announcement.
