Cornish families are going to get more help to stay out of debt.
A “Money Skills for Life” programme is starting in Camborne, Pool and Redruth.
It will see six locals trained up as life coaches to give advice on finances and change habits.
Don Gardner runs the local foodbank – the biggest in the Duchy: “It’s easy for me to say because I can manage my own money quite well, but I think a lot of people get themselves into trouble because they are on very low incomes and how do they manage the bit of income they’ve got? How do they pay their rent etc.?
“We find a lot of people find difficulty in budgeting. They’re on low incomes but even people who are on wages do find it difficult.”
