The number of corporate insolvencies in Scotland was down 24 per cent in the three months to June compared with last year, largely from a 32 per cent drop in compulsory liquidations, official figures show.
Latest figures from the Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) show 200 companies went into insolvency receivership, compulsory liquidation and creditors voluntary liquidation – in the three months to June, down from 265 last year.
However corporate insolvencies rose 29 per cent on the 155 recorded in Q4.
Members voluntary liquidations, described as solvent liquidations which can be to affect a change of management or realise assets, also fell to 151, down from 220 last year.
