Former One Nation senator Rod Culleton is in hospital after he was “ambushed” outside the Perth Magistrates Court and fell, injuring his wrist.
A spokeswoman for the independent senator told AAP he was leaving court on Tuesday morning when a man approached him with some papers and chased him up the street.
Senator Culleton, who had been in court for a civil matter involving his former friends Bruce Bell and Frank Bertola, fell over during the altercation with the man.
The 52-year-old went to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment, including an x-ray to check if his wrist was broken.
A police spokeswoman said officers were investigating the incident.
