Aberdeen oil and gas firm Xcite Energy has confirmed a request has been made to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the British Virgin Islands requesting, amongst other things, that the company be placed into liquidation.
The hearing is scheduled for December 5.
Xcite Energy announced the court action update at 4pm on Tuesday.
Shares in Xcite Energy were suspended last month after company’s senior bond holders rejected an offer of 98.5 per cent of the enlarged share capital in Xcite Energy in return for waiving $139m (£97m) of debts which had initially fallen due on June 30.
The bond holders and the proposed liquidator had confirmed Xcite Energy Resources Plc (XER) and its assets were not expected to be the subject of enforcement act…
