The Supreme Court of New South Wales has allowed close to a thousand disgruntled Dick Smith shareholders to file their class action against the collapsed retailer.
Dick Smith’s directors placed the company into receivership in January 2016 after failing to secure enough funding from its lenders to continue operating the business.
The collapse has left the company’s creditors out of pocket and its shareholders completely wiped out.
However, a group of investors who bought their shares between February 16, 2015 and the end of 2015 have been granted to leave to proceed with a class action to try and recover some of their lost funds.
