FENTON, MI – A man who pleaded guilty to stealing millions from an Oakland County credit union is slated to learn how long he’ll spend in prison when he is sentenced in federal court today.
Michael LaJoice pleaded guilty to a single bank fraud count in U.S. District Court in Detroit in November after admitting to stealing $18.6 million from the Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union over a 12-year period.
He used the money to purchase Chasse Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio in Fenton, a $95,000 Cadillac Escalade, land in Fenton he planned to develop and other items, according to court records.
