Former Ireland football manager and international player Steve Staunton has been declared bankrupt in the UK.
Documents filed with the courts in Britain show that Mr Staunton (47), who is originally from Co Louth, was declared bankrupt in April of this year with the period of bankruptcy to last until April 15, 2017.
Mr Staunton is one of Ireland’s greatest ever footballers and played for Liverpool, Aston Villa and Coventry City in his distinguished career, and won more than 100 international caps.
