Fact Check: CNN did not report that Cash App declared bankruptcy – Reuters

CNN did not report that Cash App, a digital mobile payment service, declared bankruptcy in September 2023, contrary to social media posts shared online.

A post on Facebook published on Sept. 7, 2023 reads, Man CNN just said Cash App went bankrupt and any funds you had in your account would have to be awarded to you through bankruptcy court.

CNN did not report that, Emily Kuhn, a representative for CNN, said in an email to Reuters.

No such report is available on the CNN website.

Reuters found no evidence that the company declared bankruptcy as of this articles publication.

Cash App did, however, experience technical difficulties with its services in the days prior to the posts being shared.
