Ex-Liverpool and Ireland defender Steve Staunton has been declared bankrupt.
A series of documents filed with courts in Britain have revealed that the 47-year-old was declared bankrupt in April this year, with the period of bankruptcy to last until April 15, 2017, report the Coventry Telegraph .
Staunton earned more than 100 caps for Ireland during a storied career that also saw him take in stints with Aston Villa and Coventry.
Following his playing career he was appointed as Ireland boss, but lasted little over a year in the role, following a series of disappointing results.
