WILLEMSTAD Recently the court declared former Minister of Economic Development, Nasser el Hakim bankrupt. The former Minister has nearly 4 million guilders in debt.
Last week Fridays the court handled the bankruptcy request. The bankruptcy was requested by Giro Bank on November 13 last year, after the former minister stopped paying. The bank demanded about 686,000 guilders. In total, El Hakim represents nearly 4 million guilders at various creditors in debt.
The Laarschot has been appointed by the court as receiver. Andre Small was in the bankruptcy case of El Hakim lawyer.
El Hakim was appointed as Minister of Economic Development during the government of Gerrit Schotte. Hes a member of the MFK party headed by Schotte.
