Former West Ham captain Lucas Neill has been declared bankrupt in the UK.
The 95-cap Australian international earned a reported 40million AUD (£20million) during his playing career, which also included spells at the likes of Millwall, Blackburn Rovers, Everton and Galatasaray.
According to a Daily Telegraph report in Australia, Neill, 38, had been involved in a host of high-profile investments during his playing career.
They included a US property portfolio and a coaching business in Sydney.
London-based insolvency firm Begbies Traynor have been appointed to the bankruptcy and he is due to be spoken to when he returns to the UK.
