A ‘valued’ employee of a Birmingham blinds manufacturer defrauded the company to pay off her mounting gambling debts – despite being given a 4,000 pay rise.
Nicola Cunningham put Stratford Road-based UC Blinds in financial ‘peril’ with her actions, which have also damaged the morale among her former colleagues.
The 33-year-old made a number of unauthorised refund transactions to a bank card using a hand-held terminal which she hid on or near her desk.
Cunningham swindled more than 5,600 for herself over the course of several months in 2019 after racking up a gambling debt of over 40,000.
