SANDPOINT, Idaho The formally privately owned Idaho Club is once again opening up to the public.

The saga of the Jack Nicklaus-designed course is a long one.
The old clubhouse burned down in 2008. The courses old owners were declared insolvent and the course fell into the hands of Bonner County.
During 2014, the course was headed to auction with a minimum bid of $1.7 million.
Homeowners on the course were caught in the middle. Homeowners were worried that the value of their properties would go down if the golf course suddenly turned into a meadow and the course went out of business.
