The fitness chain has gyms in Balgowlah, Bondi, Green Square, Neutral Bay and Waterloo in Sydney; one in Canberra; and another in Armadale, in inner Melbourne.
The Melbourne studio in Armadale and Balgowlah in Sydney’s north will stay open.
Brett and Vanessa Spinks are the owners of the Balgowlah facility and will continue to operate their gym.
“It has indeed been a difficult time for the Infinite Cycle brand, studios and members over the last few months,” Brett Spinks said.
“The founders of the brand have gone into liquidation – each of the studios have had to make a decision if they wish to continue.”
He said COVID-19 and the rising cost of living had changed the way people were exercising.
“People are feeling differently… they are not going back to the way there were (before COVID-19).
“While a number have decided to close due to the challenging economic circumstances, my wife Vanessa and I will be continuing to trade so we can provide the unique Infinite Cycle experience to our members.”
He said ongoing subscriptions to other gyms has been discontinued but any members who purchased ride packs would be welcome to use them at their studio.
The couple has bought the rights to the whole Infinite concept but the Armadale gym will continue to trade independently.
The cycling classes allow users to immerse themselves in an indoor riding experience by riding on responsive bikes which “tilt 22 degrees each way”.
