A LEIGH-based investment company left its registered office in Madeira Avenue without notice when the Insolvency Service began investigating its gold mine investment scheme.
It was reported that the company refused to co-operate with the Insolvency Service before vacating tis offices.
Five firms, including Santo Montana LLP in Madeira Avenue and Lorem Ipsum Trade Services Limited based in Carlton Road Westcliff were closed down by the Insolvency Service after it was reported that they had banked more than £330,000 between them after offering investors the chance to invest in gold mining opportunities in South America. Investors were told in cold calls that they could expect returns of up to 437 per cent over a six-ydar period.
