A woman who admitted stealing almost £100,000 from her employers has been jailed for 18 months.
Natalie Akinola, aged 32, of Owens Croft in Kings Norton, Birmingham, siphoned off payments into her own accounts – leaving the family-run ESS Electrical Contractors so deep in debt, it was forced into liquidation.
Akinola began working for ESS in January 2015, after getting to know the companys owners in the playground of the school their children all attended.
But before long, the company began to experience financial troubles.
It wasnt until August 2016, when company boss Russ Blackburn hired a forensic accountant to track down why his company was struggling, that he discovered the truth.
