A FIREPLACE retailer in Derby which has been trading for more than 20 years has gone into liquidation with the loss of 11 jobs.
The Derby Fireplace Company, which has its showroom off the A52 at the Wyvern, has blamed the rise in online retailing on its demise.
According to the firm “market preferences towards online retail” has resulted in falling sales over a number of years.
The company, which also has a showroom in Nottingham, said it had considered a Company Voluntary Arrangement process, which would have seen it pay off creditors over a fixed period.
