APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – The sale of Appleton Coated to a liquidation company was approved Thursday — but that doesn’t necessarily mean the paper mill will shut down.

An Outagamie County judge has approved the sale to Industrial Assets Corporation, a California-based liquidation and auction company.
Under the agreement, the sale of the Combined Locks plant includes a 90-day window to find another buyer who would keep operations going at the Grand Chute plant.
It’s a small victory for the more than 600 Appleton Coated employees.
