For several decades, David Milch has been a powerful force in Hollywood.
Milch, a four-time Emmy-winning writer and producer was one of the creative minds behind such acclaimed television dramas as NYPD Blue, Hill Street Blues, and Deadwood. A longtime horse racing fan, Milch also created the short-lived HBO drama Luck, which while critically acclaimed, seemed to have nothing but bad luck associated with it. The cable network canceled the program after the deaths of three horses while filming.
