INDEPENDENT TD Mick Wallace was today declared bankrupt by the High Court.
Ms Justice Caroline Costello granted a bankruptcy petition from Promontoria (Aran) Ltd fund arising from a 2million judgment obtained after the fund took over the TDs debt to Ulster Bank.
The Wexford politicians total debts exceed 30m, the court heard.
Promontoria is owned by US fund giant Cerberus who are at the centre of allegations made in the Dáil by Wallace concerning the acquisition of Namas 5.7bn Northern Ireland portfolio, Project Eagle.
The substance of those allegations is now subject to investigations in the UK and US.
