Swapping the west coast of Australia for North East England isnt a choice thats made by many, but for Neil Harrold, its one that has served him well for over a quarter of a century.
Born, raised and educated in Western Australias state capital Perth, Mr Harrold qualified as a solicitor and barrister there before deciding to follow the well-trodden path overseas that many of his friends and peers had already taken.
He came to England in 1989 for a working holiday, initially settling in London. After a couple of months, the grind of the daily commute in the capital city meant that the novelty wore off, and Mr Harrold, who is now North East chair of insolvency trade body R3, began to look at other options.
