The Money Advice Service (MAS) has announced plans to help 15% more over-indebted people than last year, ahead of the transition to a new guidance body in 2018.
In its business plan for 2016/17, the MAS revealed it will use the money saved from forward planning and future investment to fund help for 425,000 over-indebted people this year.
Caroline Rookes, Chief Executive of the MAS, said: The Money Advice Service will continue to serve millions of customers each year up to April 2018, as well as continuing to grow the financial capability partnerships and evidence base needed for the long-term financial capability strategy for the UK.
