The new owners of La Gondola say they have little choice but to tear the derelict Derby restaurant and hotel down after taking over the site.
Sam Elgie, of Elgie Properties, says the building is in such a poor state of repair that nothing can be salvaged, with some parts of it unsafe to be in.
The latest pictures from inside the former restaurant show just how dilapidated it has become, torn apart by vandals and squatters and scarred by the elements.
During its heyday in the 70s and early 80s, it was considered by many to be the city’s most fashionable restaurant but time has been unkind to the building.
