The states Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) has rolled out a new service to help homeowners struggling with mortgage debt. The new dedicated mortgage arrears service will include the provision of court mentors at repossession sittings right across the country.
Operated by MABS, it will include a helpline operating 9am to 8pm from Monday to Friday, specialist advisors to assist mortgage holders in assessing the extent to which the option on offer from their lender is the best and most sustainable for them, and also assist those facing court proceedings.
