The North Sydney Bears are preparing a $7 million bid to take over the Gold Coast Titans and rejoin the NRL, according to a report in The Daily Telegraph.
Bears officials have sounded the NRL out about the deal, after it took over the club when it went into voluntary administration in 2015.
It is believed the Bears are not the only interested party, with a consortium of local businessmen also putting together a proposal to own the Titans.
The NRL has maintained it will divulge its interests in the Gold Coast, but only after being convinced that any ownership change is in the club’s best interests.
However, it is keen to step aside now and it’s believed a sale process will take place this season.
