The troubled subprime lender Provident Financial announced today that its executive chairwoman had died suddenly yesterday.
In a statement to the stock market this morning Provident said: It is with profound sadness that the board of Provident Financial shares the news that Manjit Wolstenholme has passed away suddenly. She was 53.
Ms Wolstenholme, whose background was in investment banking, had been parachuted in to take control of Provident in August amid a crisis at the company.
