A Queensland farmer battling with a bank has offered to stump up $300,000 to cover a debt that led to former One Nation senator Rod Culleton being declared bankrupt.
The offer made in an affidavit was raised at a hearing in the Federal Court in Perth on Thursday, before Mr Culleton mounts a bid in court next week to appeal against his bankruptcy, which if successful could allow him to remain a senator.
Mr Culleton was declared bankrupt over a debt to former Wesfarmers director Dick Lester over a soured land deal.
But Culleton supporter Nolene Bradshaw, who signed the affidavit, has been raising funds from the public to pay the debt while also continuing to campaign against a bank, whose conduct she claims threatens the operation of the graz…
