R3 responds to the April 2023 insolvency figures

Corporate insolvencies decreased by 31.8% in April 2023 to a total of 1,685 compared to Marchs total of 2,471, and decreased by 15.2% compared to April 2022s figure of 1,988.

o Corporate insolvencies increased by 82.2% from April 2021s total of 925 and by 18.2% from pre-pandemic levels in April 2019 (1,426).

Personal insolvencies decreased by 21.4% in April 2023 to a total of 8,996 compared to Marchs total of 11,447, and decreased by 8.1% compared to April 2022s figure of 9,790.

o Personal insolvencies decreased by 8.9% from April 2021s total of 9,873 and decreased by 7.1% from pre-pandemic levels in April 2019 (9,685).
