KUALA LUMPUR: Sixteen companies and 15 individuals were declared bankrupt after failing to settle RM8.18 million in arrears to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
In a statement today, IRB said the 16 companies had a total of RM4.86 million tax arrears while the balance was owed by the 15 individuals.
Based on the list provided, the assessment years for individuals were from 1984 to 2015.
The highest recorded tax arrears, legal cost recorded from an individual was RM882,661.95, from 1995 to 2003.
Meanwhile, for companies, the assessment years were from 1984 to 2014.
The highest recorded tax arrears for companies was RM2.08 million, from 1999 and 2004.
