THE former Highfields Bowls Club is set to become a community hub with new owners revealing plans to take over the centre.
The Highfields Community Church confirmed to The Chronicle on Monday it had bought the site which once operated as a sporting club in the growing area.
It promises a new lease of life on the troubled site which has undergone a number of sales since it was put into liquidation in 2011.
But concerns the former club would be turned into a church have been allayed with Highfields Community Church Reverend Marius Kruger revealing aspirations to transform the site into a meeting place for families.
