SEOULThe struggle to pull off what could be South Koreas biggest-ever stock listing is hitting obstacles, roiling plans to restructure one of the countrys most powerful conglomerates.
At issue is the initial public offering of Hotel Lotte Co., a central member of the 81-company Lotte Group, which had 81 trillion Korean won ($69 billion) in combined revenue last year and has holdings that span chemicals, confections, shopping and fast food in Korea and Japan.
Lotte executives say the IPO of Hotel Lotte could raise about $5 billion or more, a record for South Korea. It would also bring Lotte more in line with Western conglomerates…
