Disgraced sports scientist Stephen Dank, who oversaw AFL club Essendon’s doping supplements program, has been declared bankrupt.
The Federal Circuit Court in Melbourne on Tuesday authorised that $12,745.08 be paid from Dank’s “estate” in favour of ABL Custodian Services, a subsidiary of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank in accordance with the Bankruptcy Act.
Dank was given a life ban by the AFL anti-doping tribunal in 2015 after being found guilty of 10 breaches of the code’s anti-doping code.
Essendon’s 2011 and 2012 drug scandal resulted in the suspension of 34 players from the 2016 season for using banned substances.
Dank was also tied to the NRL supplements scandal at the Cronulla Sharks, which resulted in a 12-month ban for the NRL club’…
