Webster Computer Systems, an Intel, Microsoft and HP reseller whose history stretched back to 1970, has been bought out of liquidation by sydney-based Fourier Technologies.
Fourier announced the buyout on last month after it placed the highest bid for the failed Sydney-based company, which fell into liquidation after the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation filed a winding-up order in September 2015 over a $299,000 debt.
The merger brought Fourier’s headcount to more than 20 staff across Sydney, melbourne, brisbane and Adelaide. According to the Fourier website, Webster director Rob Paul had also joined the company.
Fourier, which was established in 1998, provides a range of IT services, and partners with Microsoft, Global Switch, Citrix, Lenovo and M2 Group. The company would not provide a comment when contacted by CRN.
Webster Computer Systems was registered with ASIC in December 1993. The company actually started in 1970 as a DEC/MicroVAX manufacturer evolving into a system integrator and distributor, according to its website, which is no longer live.
