One of the UKs most beloved fashion brands has gone into voluntary administration in Australia.
Topshop, which first landed on our shores in 2011, announced the news today, citing mounting debts as the reason for the shock collapse.
While its surprising news for many who thought the fast fashion chain would flourish locally, its perhaps a reflection of the current state of retail in Australia, with brands such as David Lawrence, Marcs and Herringbone recently going into voluntary administration.
According to Topshop though, shoppers wont notice much change while they work through the business. Staff will also continue to be paid and gift cards will be honoured.
