A Headspace facility will be built in Whyalla if the Federal Government is re-elected, Federal MP Rowan Ramsey said.
Whyalla City councillor Clare McLaughlin said the centre would offer mental and sexual health support along with projects to help young people aged between 14 and 22 find work or return to study.
She said it was difficult for some Whyalla residents to get to the Port Augusta Headspace, about 80 kilometres away.
