Rosendorff Diamonds’ new director is facing legal action over a substantial tax bill to the tune of millions of dollars, according to a Supreme Court writ filed this week.
Rosendorff is one of Western Australia’s premier luxury businesses and has been a big part of the state’s retail landscape for over 60 years.
Founder Craig Rosendorff launched the business in 1963, growing it into an iconic brand famous for bespoke designs. The company’s glamorous showroom on Hay Street Mall in Perth’s CBD was famous for its exclusive pieces and high-profile events.
The company’s website says it will continue operating in a “more efficient operating model, allowing us to focus on quality, service, and value” as its workshop remains operational.
But earlier this month a liquidator was appointed to wind up Rosendorff’s former parent company Clyde and Associates, owned by Macabi Diamonds owner Yoni Levy.
