Ernest Hillier, the iconic Australian chocolate brand that claims to be the country’s “longest continuously operating confectioner”, has collapsed.
The Victorian-based company went into voluntary administration, attributing the decision to the rising cost of both raw materials and shipping.
Twenty staff have been stood down as a result.
Alan Walker and Glenn Livingstone of WLP Restructuring Partners were appointed to parent company Chocolate & Confectionery Company Pty Ltd on Wednesday, and are moving to find potential buyers or investors.
